As a part of our school curriculum, your child receives biblical instruction based upon the beliefs of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. The General Confession and the Lord’s Prayer, are a part of the communion experience.
For parents new to our school, we encourage your parental involvement and ask for your assistance in preparing your child for communion, by sharing this simple story:
In biblical times, Jesus shared a special meal with his friends and each time they shared such a meal in the future, he asked them to remember him. Today, we remember Jesus by tasting the bread and juice of Holy Communion. Encourage your child to say “I remember you, Jesus” when they pray. For older Children, refer the child to Luke 22:7-20. Read the scripture together and encourage this memory verse, “Do this in memory of me.” Luke 22:19.
