Welcome to ThinkWave
We are very excited about this new resource for our school. ThinkWave is a software program that stores student grades and social development information for our school. The program will provide our 4th & 5th grade students with access to view their academic process, missing assignments and grades earned. All Alpha Learning Academy parents will eventually have access to do the same.
This tool will help our teachers, parents and students stay informed on the learning process and classroom work; all of which will impact the success of our students.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any difficulities signing on.
In order to meet promotion requirements, all students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher; or score at or above the 50th percentile on the Stanford Achievement Test. If a student does not meet promotion requirements and chooses to attend another institution for summer school, he or she again must have a cumulative grade point average from all semesters including the summer session equivalent to 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher. Students also have the option of retaking the Stanford Achievement Test in the summer at their own expense; however, the same requirements for promotion apply.
Progress Reports will be sent home four and one-half (4.5) weeks into each grading period to keep parents up-to-date on their student’s progress. Ongoing communication between parents and teachers is strongly encouraged, as no written report is all-inclusive. In the event that you have not received a progress report by the designated times, please contact the school secretary.
Report Cards are issued four (4) times during the school year. In conjunction with the report card schedule, the Alpha Learning Academy requires four parent teacher conferences throughout the year. Parent/teacher communication is imperative to the success of your student. A numerical equivalent is used in Grades 1 – 5 as follows:
